Juice Grinds

My mother purchased a juicer quite a few years back, and unfortunately, we have never really given it the use we intended to when we purchased it!
So a few days ago, my sister, Katie, and I broke out that bad boy and used up some fruits and veggies we had laying around our fridge!

Ingredients:

2 small oranges (peeled)
1 apple (cored and cut into slices)
1 1/2 cups kale
2 sticks of celery
1 handful of parsley

We ran all of our ingredients through mom's handy-dandy juicer, and voila! A beautiful, all-be-it green, cup of fresh juice! I was totally freaked out about the kale, but it turned out pretty delicious! The final product had a slight taste of celery, but mostly it tasted sweet from the oranges and apple!

My boyfriend, Matt, joined us half way through and took the food rinds home to put in his compost bin!
We managed to use up all the fruits and veggies in the fridge that were about to go bad, and re-used the excess for Matt's veggie garden!
Pretty successful and and eco-friendly use of excess food if you ask me!

Cheers!
